A Danish white paper presents for the first time a systematic review of the international research literature on mental health problems, sickness absence, and return to work. Researchers from the National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NRCWE) in collaboration with a Danish expert group conducted the literature review. Drawing on the conclusions of the review the white paper offers nine recommendations on how to facilitate the return to work and job retention of sick-listed employees with mental health problems.
