The general governance of the NRCWE is carried out by the Board which
consists of 13 members:
-
The chairman, professor Kjeld Møller Pedersen
-
6 members appointed by the social partners
-
4 eminent researchers appointed by the Danish Council for Strategic
Research
-
2 employee representatives.
The institute management
The top management of the NRCWE consists of three directors: the Director
General, Palle Ørbæk, the Deputy Director General, Ulla Skjøth, and the
Director of Research, Otto Melchior Poulsen.
The middle management consists of three Directors of Research Coordination,
a Director of Communication and two heads of secretariats.
Research coordinators and research groups
The research at the NRCWE is organised in projects. Project management and
project coordination therefore play important roles in the general
management of the NRCWE.
The various research projects are clustered with related research projects
in so-called project groups. In 2008 there were 17 project groups in all.
Both the size and number of project groups vary considerably between years.
The activities of the project groups are managed by annual performance
contracts with detailed information on budgeting of resources and working
expenses, scientific production (publications), cooperation with
universities, teaching activities and applications for funding.
The project groups are organised in three clusters of research. The
Directors of Research Coordination are each responsible for a research
cluster.
