Low back pain and sick leave: How and how much can this be prevented
SOUND seminar April 15, 2005, at Symbion, Fruebjergvej 3, 2100 København Ø.
Questions addressed at the meeting:
- Is it possible to keep to the notion of “primary prevention” for the condition “low back disorder” due to the large prevalence and life-long incidence in all populations?
- Do we have evidence of a substantial number of chronic low back disorders being caused by work exposure?
- If yes, how should at general prevention campaign focus? What are the best effect measures to evaluate the effectiveness of the campaign?
- If no, how can we prevent longer sick leave and eventual premature pensioning due to the suffering by low back pain?
