The National Research Center for the Working Environment (NRCWE) conduct research in both the physical and psychological working environment.
Strategic research areas
The NRCWE's business strategy for 2010-2014 focus on four strategic research areas:

- Musculoskeletal disorders
- Nanotechnology
- Work accidents and safety culture
These areas are priority issues at NRCWE.
