On this site we have gathered information about musculoskeletal disorders.
Work related pain in muscles and joints is a strategic research area at the NRCWE. The background for the research is international consensus of opinion that pain in muscles and skeleton is caused by many various factors (multifactorial). Factors which affect a person’s off-duty hours as well as working hours are of importance to prevention and rehabilitation in a work situation. Specifically, the NRCWE conducts research in how pain in and symptoms from muscles, tendons and joints affect absence from work and early retirement from the labour market due to physical attrition. Furthermore, the NRCWE works on developing tools which companies and consultants can use to register and affect work environment effects but to develop and test practical solutions.
The musculoskeletal area is part of the Government’s 2010 work environment programme.
