NRCWE monitors, analyses and explores the working environment

The National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NRCWE) is a Danish government research institute under the Ministry of Employment. The mission of the NRCWE is to monitor, analyse and explore conditions in the working environment of importance to health, safety and work role functioning.

NRCWE serves as a knowledge base for the Ministry of Employment, the social partners and working environment counsellors

The National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NRCWE) serves as a knowledge base for the administrative and legislative work of the Ministry of Employment. Furthermore, NRCWE disseminates research based knowledge to the social partners, enterprises and working environment counsellors, contributes to further education at the universities and serves as a gateway to working environment knowledge for enterprises through the Working Environment Information Centre.

Board of managers and governors for NRCWE

The National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NRCWE) is ruled by a board of managers consisting of three directors, and a board of governors with 13 members: A chairman appointed by the government, 6 members nominated by the social partners, four researchers nominated by the Danish Council for Strategic Research and two employee representatives.

Employees at NRCWE

In 2008 NRCWE had 79 researchers and 14 PhD students out of a total of 155 employed. In 2008 researchers at the NRCWE published a total of 126 articles in international peer-reviewed scientific journals.
