Implementation of physical exercise at the workplace

Through randomized controlled exercise interventions The National Research Centre for the Working Environment (NRCWE) has shown that resistance training performed at high intensity has significant positive effects.

The aim of the project is to develop and test effective strength training techniques, which can easily be implemented in the workplace. The training methods must induce sufficiently high intensity to efficiently increase the physical capacity of the employees by short-term daily use. In addition, the training methods used should be specifically targeted towards specific body regions.

Results from the study will generate new knowledge that allows companies to use simple and effective strength training, with minimal use of exercise equipment to prevent and reduce musculoskeletal disorders at the work place.
